Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats
The perfect snack that is salty and sweet.
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 bag mini marshmallows (16-ounce)
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 8 cups Rice Krispies
Grease a 9x13-inch pan and set aside.
In a large nonstick stock pot, melt butter over medium-high heat. Cook, stirring occasionally, until butter turns a deep golden color and you see a few dark flecks. Add the marshmallows and salt, and stir until marshmallows are completely melted. Remove from heat and fold in Rice Krispies until well coated.
Optional- Stir in a handful of marshmallows, once Rice Krispies have been added for just a little bit more gooeyness.
Transfer mixture to prepared pan and place parchment paper on top and push down until even. Once cooled, cut into squares and serve. Can be stored in an airtight container.
