Recently we had local creators start up The YXH Box featuring lots of great local businesses. Me being me, I had to try it out! I was so excited to see so many businesses involved in The YXH Box. But I did have some hesitation going into it – mainly because I hate surprises but because I always get disappointed with boxes. I don’t know about you but I always feel like I get things that I don’t find useful. But I should have known that I was going to love everything in The YXH Box because I love SO MANY of our local businesses.
I am so happy with the box I received – I actually got a lot of items from business I’ve never shopped with before – which I think is fantastic. That’s the point of these boxes isn’t it? To introduce you to businesses you otherwise may not have purchased from.
I love that The YXH Box has many boxes for different budgets. Which always allows a large amount of people to take part. These boxes were released just in time for Mother’s Day and they are such a great gift giving idea. These would be great for so many occasions.

Next I received these gifts From Red Velvet – a de-frizzer and some hair elastics. These are perfect, I am always looking for new hair products and these hair elastics are my favourite. Thank you Red Velvet.

I am not sure who was more excited – my husband or myself – about getting coffee from Madhatter Coffee Roastery. And you better believe it that we tried it out right away! I was so excited to see skincare in my box from Essential Medi Spa. I am currently in the market for new skincare and this was a perfect little sample pack. Because I like knowing about the products I put on my skin, I did some late night researching on the brands of both of these products. I was pleasantly surprised by both brands but mostly OM Organics. I love that they are Canadian made in small batches. This definitely introduced me to a new product I otherwise would have never known about. Thanks so much Essential Medi Spa.

I was so excited to see something from Grit City Distillery in my box. The bottle is so generous it will last me forever! Of coarse I had to have a nap time cocktail – I mixed it with some grapefruit Bubly and it was SOOO good! This will be a new summer staple! I just need to come up with some other recipes. Seriously, this was such good timing. I am currently working on a review of self-tanners and I am so glad I get to add Organic Tan products into my line up. I tried out the Hydrate Me moisturizer, it absorbs so quickly into the your skin and doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy. The scent is a little stronger than I like but it mellows out really quickly, which I appreciate. Thank you Organic Tan!

Last but certainly not least. I received these adorable clips and cardigan from Wild Clover. I have been wanting a cheetah print cardigan for a while and I love how subtle this pattern is. I received an XL, which fit but I would have prefered a Large but thats totally fine, Id rather too big than too small. The cardigan is so soft, it will most definitely be my new go to sweater.
